37th Annual Fredericton Fall Classic Race

A huge kudos goes out to all runners and volunteers for making the 37th Annual Fall Classic a great event in the NB running calendar. This year, the 500 m and 1 K kids run had 135 young runners having fun and enjoying the great weather on the last weekend of summer. Another 44 runners participated in the 3 K race. On Sunday, 664 runners took off to run the Fredericton Fall Classic on the trails along the water.

I must also thank the committee members for providing guidance and direction on all aspects of the weekend. The team is made up of ten passionate people, plus other running partners that hear me discuss various aspects of the weekend and run various ideas by them. Our community support is phenomenal- Our local sponsors have been so eager to support in various ways. Volunteers have helped set up the course & providing support to the participants. Our water stop volunteers continued to cheer runners enthusiastically during the morning. The support that they provide to this event is above and beyond! The Fredericton Police Force, the City of Fredericton for letting us disrupt traffic for a few hours on Sunday morning and of course other community organizations such as Crabbe Mountain Ski Patrol for First Aid and York Sudbury Search and Rescue (YSSR) for traffic control have all helped to make this a safe, successful & memorable event. Can’t wait for next year!
